Latin Evangelical Outreach
|
Major changes in immigration laws resulted in open doors for people
from Latin America and the far East to come to America. In response to these
changes,
Henry and Ruth Tobelmann
began a ministry with Latinos in the North Jersey area through the Evangelistic
Committee of Newark. Their vision and ministry led to the founding of Latin
Evangelical Outreach on February 5, 1976. It began as a faith home mission
and was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) religious non-profit organization in
the state of Pennsylvania. Through evangelistic campaigns, Spanish radio
program, prison ministry, film ministry, open air evangelism and Bible
Correspondence Courses Latinos were reached for Christ and inner city
congregations were strengthened.
